Our expertise includes Inflammatory Arthritis, Systemic Autoimmune Rheumatic Diseases, and Vasculitis. We do not see referrals for chronic pain/fatigue, fibromyalgia, or genetic disorders of connective tissue/hypermobility syndromes. Dr. Yan Yeung, MD FRCPC
Dr. Yeung grew up in Sudbury, Ontario and attended Laurentian University where he received a Bachelors of Science (Hon) in Biology. He earned a Medical Doctorate (MD) from the Schulich School of Medicine at Western University in London, Ontario. He then completed post-graduate residency training in Internal Medicine and a clinical fellowship in Rheumatology at Western University. During his fellowship, Dr. Yeung fulfilled leadership and educational roles as the Chief Rheumatology Fellow.
Dr. Yeung founded Waterloo Rheumatology in 2018 and expanded its operations in 2020 with space for multiple rheumatologists in group practice. He is active as an Assistant Clinical Professor with McMaster University, providing lectures and clinical preceptorships to Internal Medicine Resident Physicians and Rheumatology Clinical Fellows. Dr. Yeung was accepted into the 2020 cohort of the Canadian Rheumatology Association Leadership Program. Dr. Yeung was awarded the 2022 Early Career Rheumatologist Award by the Ontario Rheumatology Association. He is Vice-President, Adult Rheumatology, for the Ontario Rheumatology Association and also works on the Informatics Committee.
Dr. Yeung's professional interests include immune system disorders with systemic manifestations -- especially those involving the joint. This includes inflammatory arthritis (rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, also gout), systemic rheumatic diseases (including lupus, myositis, scleroderma), and vasculitis.

Dr. Sabrina Lue joined Waterloo Rheumatology in April 2020. She completed her Bachelor of Medical Sciences and Medical Doctorate at Western University in London, Ontario. Dr. Lue then pursued post-graduate residency training in Internal Medicine and a Clinical Fellowship in Rheumatology at Queen’s University.

Dr. Sandeep Dhillon, MD MSc FRCPC
Dr. Sandeep Dhillon joined Waterloo Rheumatology July 2021. He completed his Honours Bachelor of Science and Master of Science at the University of Toronto. Thereafter, he trained at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario where he earned his Medical Doctorate. Dr. Dhillon remained at McMaster University to pursue post-graduate residency training in Internal Medicine and a Clinical Fellowship in Rheumatology. As a resident physician, Dr. Dhillon was awarded the Hui Lee Senior Medical Resident and the Chief Medical Resident Awards.
Dr. Dhillon’s clinical interests are the diagnosis and management of inflammatory arthropathies (such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and gout), systemic rheumatic diseases (such as systemic lupus erythematosus, inflammatory myositis, and scleroderma), and vasculitis. Dr. Gabriel Jeyasingham, MD FRCPC
Dr. Gabriel Jeyasingham joined Waterloo Rheumatology in July 2022. He completed his Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He then transitioned to McMaster University’s Waterloo Regional Campus where he completed his Medical Doctorate (MD) and post-graduate residency training in Internal Medicine. Dr. Jeyasingham has since completed subspecialty training in Rheumatology at Western University in London, Ontario. He is active with the Ontario Rheumatology Association as Co-Chair of the Emerging Rheumatologists of Ontario Committee

Dr. Michael Vernon, MD FRCPC
Dr. Michael Vernon joined Waterloo Rheumatology in July 2024. Dr. Vernon grew up in Waterloo, Ontario, and completed his Bachelor of Science at Western University before earning his Medical Doctorate (M.D.) from the American University of the Caribbean in 2017. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Roger Williams Medical Center in Rhode Island, where he received the "Intern of the Year" award in 2019 and the "Resident of the Year" award in 2021. Dr. Vernon went on to complete his Rheumatology Fellowship at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, where he served as Chief Rheumatology Resident in 2022-2023.
